We’re shocked and saddened to learn of Re-Animator (1985) maestro Stuart Gordon’s passing at the age of 72.

A formative influence on both of our cinematic tastes, Dave and I would like to extend our condolences to Mr. Gordon’s family, friends, and colleagues during this time.

For us fans, we can be thankful that Gordon leaves behind an important and remarkable legacy that we can savour and study for decades to come, Schlock Pit favourites From Beyond (1986), Fortress (1992), Castle Freak (1995), Dagon (2001), and King of the Ants (2003) among them. As Herbert West himself might say, death is just the beginning.

We’ll certainly be sparking up a Gordon joint or two tonight.
